Nearly all digital cameras have the option to save images in JPEG format. The JPEG format supports 8 bits per color (red, green, and blue) and produces relatively small file sizes. The compression when not too severe does not detract noticeably from the image. But JPEG files can suffer generational degradation when repeatedly edited and saved. Photographic images may be better stored in a lossless non-JPEG format if they will be re-edited in future, or if the presence of small 'artifacts' is unacceptable. It is however the best format for internet publishing in most cases. |
Prácticamente todas las cámaras digitales tienen la opción de almacenar las imágenes en formato JPEG. El formato JPEG tiene 8 bits por color (rojo, verde y azul) y produce ficheros relativamente pequeños. La compresión, cuando no es muy fuerte, no modifica la imagen de forma visible. Sin embargo, los ficheros JPEG pueden sufrir degradación cuando se editan y guardan repetidas veces. Las imágenes fotográficas pueden ser almacenadas mejor en un formato sin pérdidas no-JPEG si van a ser editadas de nuevo en un futuro, o si la presencia de artefactos por la compresión no es aceptable. |
