Release notes

What changed in each version of Contenta Converter, newest first. The notes are in English.

Contenta Converter 9.0.46

Old formats convert more often: QuickReport files from older versions, the per-photo caches iTunes leaves for iPod nano, and HEIF or AVIF files saved under the wrong extension. A HEIF file the converter cannot read now says why. PNG output and JPEG to HEIC conversion are faster, and so are the RAW settings preview, RAW thumbnails and the live preview. EPS files are about ten times smaller and hold a JPEG picture. A RAW photo with sharpening switched on is no longer sharpened twice.

Contenta Converter 9.0.45

Converting a photo to PDF is over four times faster: a 24 MP JPEG page takes 1.4 s instead of 6.4 s. Pages look the same, and greyscale scans stay greyscale. For JPG, PNG, TIFF and WebP, copyright, creator, title, keywords and DPI are written as the file is saved, so one photo takes 0.9 s instead of 2.2 s. The default output folder avoids folders protected by Controlled Folder Access. If Windows still blocks a folder, the app says so, with an Open Windows Security button.

Contenta Converter 9.0.44

RAW photos get more control in the wizard and on the command line: Bright areas (Clip, Blend, Keep all or Rebuild), an exposure shift with Protect highlights, and Brightness (Automatic, On or Off). PSD and PSB files, JPEG XL and HEIC thumbnails and later pages of multi-page TIFF files now open in the built-in engine. The Configure step opens with a diagram of your job, and contenta convert -o can name the output file. On a new install, the first slideshow downloads its video encoder.

Contenta Converter 9.0.43

Removing files from the list no longer stops to ask: Remove, Clear all and the Delete key take the files out at once and show an Undo button, and Ctrl+Z does the same. Settings has a Restore defaults button that resets your preferences and can be undone the same way. Before you start a conversion, the summary shows the estimated output size against the original, and the live preview names the operations it cannot show, such as Collage or PDF album.

Contenta Converter 9.0.42

Scripts now drive Contenta Converter like our other apps. The contenta command line and the MCP server share exit codes: 2 for a wrong option, 4 when some files failed, 6 for a license problem. Every --json result has the same shape, with warnings and outputs. You can repeat --include and --exclude or give them as a list. Output sent to another program is plain text. The CLI and MCP reference ships as docs\cli.html, and your license is recognized however the app is started, even by an AI assistant.

Contenta Converter 9.0.41

Apply a .cube LUT to your photos and set its strength, in the app, on the command line (--lut) and through the MCP server (lut_path). Photos tagged with a wide-gamut profile are converted when you choose sRGB. RAW files can be saved as 16-bit TIFF, with exposure control, DNG lens corrections and the camera's embedded preview. Crop now happens before resize, text watermarks honour their opacity, and Auto-Enhance, Clarity, Dehaze, AI Denoise and Perspective Correction now change the converted file.

Contenta Converter 9.0.40

Updating from 9.0.36 or older now clears leftover files from the tools folder: old backup copies, unused DLLs and a sample image that earlier versions installed and the app no longer uses. Nothing else changes in this release. Your conversions, settings and license stay as they are.

Contenta Converter 9.0.39

MP4 slideshows no longer fail on PCs without a working NVIDIA, Intel or AMD video encoder: the software encoder renders them instead. RAW Manual white balance sets a real color temperature when the file is decoded, and the preview shows it. Watch folders convert files that arrive by rename, such as browser downloads, and recover when the folder briefly disappears. With Auto-rename, an output never replaces a file that appeared after the batch started. EXIF dates and date tokens in file names are correct on Windows set to Thai, Arabic or Finnish. Uninstalling removes the application files, an update installs into the app's current folder, and a failed update leaves the installed version working.

Contenta Converter 9.0.38

Batch Rename has a new option: Copy the renamed files to a folder and keep the originals. The wizard's filename pattern takes photo tokens such as {camera}, {lens} and {iso}; {date} is now the date taken and {today} the date of the run, and saved patterns are converted. RAW Manual white balance corrects for the light you pick, its presets work, and the live preview shows it with the RAW boosts. Color Temperature no longer turns the picture black or green; its slider ends read Cooler and Warmer.

Contenta Converter 9.0.37

One click installs the next update: the banner's Update now button downloads the signed installer, checks the ContentaSoft signature and starts it. Try with 3 sample photos on the first screen loads three photos to convert before you add your own. If the tool download stalls three times, the web installer offers the full offline installer. A Send usage statistics and crash reports switch in Settings turns all reporting off. DjVu conversion works on every Windows 10/11 PC. Command line and MCP server show trial notices and JSON errors, sharpen RAW photos by default as the app does (--sharpness-boost false keeps the old output), and apply the RAW boost flags and manual white balance.

Contenta Converter 9.0.36

The free trial has no end date and converts every file in a batch. Results carry a small watermark until you click Keep clean on up to 10 of them; the picks count once per PC, not per batch. Multi-page PDF and TIFF files convert every page, not only the first. The AI features (background removal, photo restoration, colorize) use Google's current Gemini image models. Files that cannot be read are flagged before the batch starts. The app has a new icon, and the command line and MCP server got reliability fixes.

Contenta Converter 9.0.33

More files open: DjVu, EMF and WMF, the embedded JPEG in Sigma X3F files, Paint.NET PDN, and a dozen older formats such as XCF, SGI and MNG. 16-bit greyscale TIFF converts to HEIC, AVIF and JXL. The trial watermark is applied in a single pass, so watermarked output now takes about as long as clean output. A file that is not an image is rejected with a clear message instead of a failed conversion.
