One Nikon D60 RAW file converted to five formats, at quality 90 where the format has a quality setting. PNG is lossless, so it is the largest. Seconds are the median of three runs. Measured with the Contenta Converter 9.0.35 command line on an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 2026-09-30.

優點 Device-independent by design: the same .ps file prints identically on a 300 dpi laser from 1990 and a 2400 dpi imagesetter today. Text-based, so you can edit or inspect the file with any text editor. Perfectly suited for high-quality print output where vector accuracy matters.
缺點 Superseded by PDF in 1993. Modern workflows have no reason to use PS — PDF is smaller, faster to render, self-contained, and supports the same vector accuracy. Rendering a PS file requires a PostScript interpreter (Ghostscript, or a PostScript printer), which makes viewing inconvenient. Most modern apps and browsers can't open .ps directly.
